I like acting like i'm 12... when I really am not. Then when I want to be taken serious I act serious. It would never work. You would have kids changing the age so they can play with "teh big kids"

Maturity can be in young kids. Its just not there right now.

All you need to do is create a persistent world and then split the servers to two categories.

Free for all PvP.
Structured PvP. (PvE Server)

In FFA PvP you can attack anyone, anywhere.
In Structured, you have basically same as now - arenas and such.

Thus the immature people will leave of their own volition, and go to the Free For All PvP servers. Mature players can remain in Structured PvP and be mostly free of immature players.

Reason: Age =/= maturity(behavior wise). And yes it is age discrimination. There are quite a few kids that are more mature than the adults on this server. Yes there are kids that are complete a**holes, but there are those that are actually mature. Same with adults, there are those that are complete a**holes, and then there are those that actually act mature.

But also there are those times where you just kind of want to have fun, loosen up a little bit and have some fun.

BTW there is an ignore list, while it's only limited to 10 people which should be more. Also you can turn off all chat.

But don't get me wrong: I can understand where the original poster is coming from; it's kind of difficult to enjoy a game when a bunch of immature animals bog down the Local chat when you're actually trying to have fun or enjoy a conversation.
Just like the highly intelligent conversations in Fort Aspenwood at night.

I don't honestly see a relative point to it, other than getting rid of the kids dumb enough to put their age below 18.

First there is no way to do this.
Anyone can enter there age as 18+ or 17-

Second I have people in my guild that are under 18 and they are more mature than half the adults in GW.

Just bad idea

1:bad idea. ( maturity dose not come with age )
2:not possible. ( nothing stops anyone from saying they are older then they are )

there is an easy way... get in an 18+ guild and only do stuff with them and old friends. there, your happy and there was no impact on the people that can deal with the fact that a large percentage of most games player bases are young kids or jackasses. (no, they are not always the same people)

Not signed. Age does not tell too much about skill and attitude. It's not reliable. And it can be easily faked.

1. Age verification has NEVER EVER worked and usually makes things worse. An example...BEER perhaps. People lie about their age when its forbidden.

2. Even if there was, GW has very little people to work with, I think under 100,000 or something on at a time, and thats a generous amount. This would kill PUGs or worse the adults could be stuck in pretty much empty environments..

age check could be done very easily with credit/debit card verification at sign up.

First A-Net and the Guru hoarders killed the pugs with the Ursan nerf, second I think the teenagers would be the ones stuck in empty enviroments, most adults have steady friends/guilds/family they play with.

Although I understand how immature people completely ruin a game, theres no way to determine a REAL date of birth. You know the 18 and under owuld be empty, kids dont like to be treated like kids, especially if they can live in a fantasy world. That and "what is your DOB?" and you either use your parents DOB as they would have to use their card online to purchase things, or just lie and say you were born in 1970.

I understand why you say this, but in the gaming world, it is something we can not live without.
